If you suspect abuse call 911 or your local police department’s regular line. You can also call your local Child Protective or Family Services hotline. Be prepared to give whatever information you have about the suspected victim, such name, age, location of child, and reasons for suspecting abuse.
Many states offer free on-line training for mandated reporters. California’s training is available at: Free CA Mandated Reporter Training You may log on and off so do not need to complete the entire training in one session. At the end you will receive a certificate of completion.
